Hi, my name is Scott. I'm 57 years old, married to Joyce, with two stepchildren, six stepgrandchildren and three exotic birds. I moved to Milledgeville, Georgia from Maryland earlier this year. I'm a route driver for a local snack company, delivering chips and pretzels, and for the last 29 years I've played lead guitar and sung in many local country-classic rock bands. I'm currently playing with two bands, "The 120 Over 80 Band" and "JT and the Playboys".
I have several guitars, but when I play out, I usually take my Strat or my Tele. I use a Boss ME-50 guitar multi effects processor and a Mesa Boogie Lone Star amp. I have a Tascam 2488 digital recorder, which I use for recording my music. I am currently buying a house, I hope to set up one room for a dedicated studio.
I took lessons for a couple of years, learning the basics of playing lead, but most of my training has come from spending hours and hours playing along with tapes. I've been playing in bands for almost thirty years and wish I could do it full time. I'd sure rather go to bed at 4:00am, instead of getting up then to drive a truck!
I have more guitar heroes than I can name here, but a few of them are Clapton, of course, Chuck Berry, Dickie Betts of the Allman Brothers, Jeff "Skunk" Baxter of the Doobie Brothers, Carlos Santana, Mark Knopfler of Dire Straits, Joe Walsh, John Fogerty, Albert Lee (an awesome country picker), and Gary Moore. I love the Hellecasters and the late Danny Gatton, although their ability is way beyond anything I can play!
I don't have many hobbies, but I enjoy hacking around a golf course, and I love Bass fishing. I used to live live 15 minutes from the upper Potomac River, with its excellent Smallmouth fishing, and an hour and a half from the lower Potomac, one of the best Largemouth fisheries on the East Coast. Now that I'm in Georgia, I have access to many large lakes and small ponds, with a variety of species to fish for. I fish mainly for bass and catfish but hope to try my hand at striper and crappie fishing as well.
