Note: I refer to all of our birds as "He", although without DNA testing, it is impossible to positively determine the sex of the birds. So your guess is as good as mine!
"Wizzer"
Blue and Gold Macaw (Ara Ararauna)
Native to northern and central South America
Hatched in the summer of 1999
Wizzer is the newest addition to our family, and makes the other two birds look tiny in comparison. From the top of his head to the end of his tail, he is about three and a half feet long, with a wing span of over three feet.
"Jade"
Yellow Collared Macaw (Ara Auricollis)
Native to central South America
Hatched in the spring of 1999
Jade is the feisty one of the group, getting into everything. Very playful and affectionate, he loves to cuddle. Afraid of nothing, he will chase Wizzer as quickly as he does Buster.
I also have an African Grey parrot, "Buster". He is definitely the best talker of the bunch, he's developing quite a vocabulary! It is said that an adult African Grey can have a vocabulary equivalent to a five year old human. Pictures to come!
